Humboldt Mfg. Co., USA

Automatic Marshall Compactor with Rotating Base

Humboldt Automatic Marshall compaction machine are designed to provide stable and rigid mechanism for producing 4" & 6" diameter asphalt pills used in Marshall tests.

Automatic Soil Compactor

The Mechanical Compactor automatically compacts and rotates mold after each blow while keeping track of the number of hammer blows and shutting off once a present number of blows is reached.

Consolidation Testing

The HM-5470.3F ConMatic IPC is a fully-automated, incremental pressure controller for performing incremental consolidation and one-dimensional swell tests.

Deadweight Consolidation Frame

Consolidation frame features a rugged frame design manufactured from aluminum with stainless steel vertical rods, horizontal cross arms and beam support rods. The load arm incorporates 9:1, 10:1 and 11:1 beam ratios for greater flexibility and loading weight requirements.

Digital Master Loader

The Humboldt Digital Master Loader is designed for multi-purpose applications including Soil Triaxial Tests- UU, CU and CD, UC, CBR, LBR, Marshall Stability etc.

Direct/Residual Shear Testing

Humboldt's Elite Series Direct Shear machines provide the materials testing lab with a choice of a pneumatic loading and several dead-weight machines for direct shear testing applications.

Dynamic Cone Penetrometer

Measures the shear strength of soil with a CBR between 0.5-100% and psf from 455-7072. CBR and Shear strength can be estimated in the field from tables in the manual and plotted using Corps of Engineers Excel template included on CD.

Electrical Density Gauge

The Electrical Density Gauge (EDG) is a non-nuclear alternative for determining the Density and Moisture of compacted soils. The EDG uses the reliable “direct transmission” technique to measure the dielectric properties and moisture levels of compacted soil using high, radio frequency traveling between darts driven into the soil being tested.

Elite Series Data Loggers

Humboldt's Elite Series HM-5330 and HM-5320 Data Loggers are specifically designed for use within construction materials testing labs.

Field Moisture Oven

The FMO is a compact, portable (powered by 12-volt car batter) moisture testing oven, which provides gravimetric moisture readings to better than 0.5% in the field.

Fully Automated Triaxial Test System

The Humboldt Fully Automated Triaxial Testing System is a state of the art system specifically designed for soil testing laboratories conducting UU, CU, CD Triaxial and Unconfined Compression Tests.

GeoGauge

The GeoGauge is a unique, QC/QA field tool that can be used to measure the uniformity of unbound pavement layers by measuring the variability in stiffness throughout a structure. Stiffness & Modulus can then be used to evaluate field CBR.

Humboldt’s NEXT Software (For Control & Data Acquisition)

Humboldt's NEXT software is used to control the operation of Humboldt's testing machines, as well as provide data acquisition and reporting of test data.

Load Frames

Humboldt's Elite Series Load Frames provide the materials testing lab with a choice of three, highly-versatile and precision-built loading systems covering a range of testing applications.

Nuclear Density Gauge

The EZ Moisture Density Gauge uses an advanced microprocessor based technology to provide highly-accurate measurements of density and moisture that are automatically computed for direct readouts of wet density, dry density, moisture content, percent of moisture, percent of compaction (Proctor or Marshall), void ratio and air voids.

Percometer

The Percometer is a reliable, accurate, lightweight and easy-to-use instrument for measuring the dielectric value, electrical conductivity and temperature of materials indoors and outdoors.

Permeability Testing System

Permeability testing measures the rate of discharge of water under laminar flow conditions through a unit cross-sectional area of porous medium under a unit hydraulic gradient and standard temperature conditions.

Pressure Aging Vessel

The Pressure Aging Vessel (PAV) is used to simulate in service oxidative aging of asphalt binder according to procedures developed by the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP).

Rolling Thin Film Oven

The Rolling Thin Film Oven is used to measure the effect of heat and air on a moving film of semi-solid asphaltic material. The results of this treatment are determined from measurements of the asphalt properties before and after the test.

Static Cone Penetrometers

The static cone penetrometers can be used to evaluate soil consistency by determining the soil’s level of compaction and/ or the bearing capacity.

Static Triaxial Test System

Humboldt's Manual Pressure Control Triaxial System provides a manually-controlled triaxial system. A multi-function control pantel controls of the confining and back pressure.

Vacuum Degassing Oven (VDO)

The Vacuum Degassing Oven (VDO) is used to precisely and accurately degas pressure-aged binder samples to meet AASHTO R28-06 and ASTM D6521-05 standards.
